Race HP and Nvidia To High Performance at HP-CAST

There is still time to register for this week’s HP-CAST HPC user group, which will focus on

  • Highly energy efficient HPC systems and data-centers
  • Future Processors, GPU and chipset roadmaps
  • HPC and Cloud Computing

Several sessions will focus on how HP and Nvidia are bringing you some of the most energy efficient HPC systems in the world, including:

  • 9:20 Friday Jeffrey Vetter of Georgia Institute of Technology presents on Emerging Technologies on the Pathway to the Exascale
  • 12 noon Friday, Nvidia’s Geoff Ballew presents on NVIDIA GPU Technology & Roadmap
  • 3 pm Friday HP’s Dave Mullally presents on Comparing Energy Efficiency of GPU-based Scalable Nodes and Systems
  • Saturday there will be multiple GPU related tutorials including easier parallel programming with CUDA 4.0, OpenCL programming, GPU debugging, and tutorials on other GPU related topics.

Download the HP-CAST agenda for a complete schedule of sessions and tutorials.

This year, HP and Nvidia will bring you one additional high performance activity, a morning run, your chance to race to higher performance with HP’s Marc Hamilton and Nvidia’s Dr. Simon See. We will meet each morning at 6:30 am in front of the Royal Meredian Hotel and leave at 6:30 am sharp for run of just under 10K around the beautiful Alsterwasser lake. Its a perfect flat and fast run for a pair of high performance running shoes like the lightweight New Balance 890.

Now for the best part. If you register and pay the HP-CAST €149 fee, and join us Friday morning through Wednesday morning at 6:30 am for the run, you can win one of five €149 gift certificates, courtesy of Nvidia, to a running store of your choice. One gift certificate awarded each day, Nvidia and HP employees not eligible, other fine print applies. US attendees might want to pick my favorite running store, Road Runner Sports, but to be energy efficient like the latest Nvidia M2090 powered HP ProLiant SL390 servers, non-US attendees can select a local running store.

One final note, after Friday, run times may be adjusted, be sure to check back on this blog daily for updated run times. As some of our other partners presenting at HP-CAST hear about this, there may be even more prizes, so check back every day for all the latest HP-CAST, ISC, and running news.

Will this meeting be recorded? If so, where might I find the recordings of some of the workshops?
