NREL Data Center Progress

The NREL data center continues moving rapidly to completion and here are a couple of updated pictures of the cooling infrastructure courtesy of NREL’s Steve Hammond.

The first picture below is looking up at the floor tiles and wire under-floor safety mesh from the second floor. The black pipes are 8 inch branch lines with several turn-ups visible to 3 inch supply pipes with flanges which are what will actually feed through the floor to the new HP racks.

The second picture shows the main 14 inch cooling water supply line, it looks larger than 14 inches because of the white insulation material surrounding the pipe. Compared to the pictures in my blog yesterday, which were taken about a month ago, you can see much of the construction equipment has been removed although there is still some final work going on.
